Getting Your Child
Ready for School

You will need to register your child (whether you are new to the neighborhood or your child is nearing kindergarten age) and each child must have a complete physical exam.

Dept. of Education -- School Registration
Register with the school secretary at your neighborhood school, known as your "zone school." Or, if you prefer to send your child to a school other than the "zone school," contact the Community School District office responsible for that school. To find out which District Office you need to apply to, call the Board of Ed. These offices provide information on elementary, middle and high schools.
