Public Advocate Betsy Gotbaum’s Statement on Transit Strike

“I stood on the City Hall side of the Brooklyn Bridge this morning greeting pedestrians and cyclists as they made their way to work. This is a major inconvenience for New Yorkers, so it is in the best interest of the public and the City that service be restored. I call upon both parties to return to the negotiating table immediately to reach an agreement."
