Statement
by Public Advocate Gotbaum
on Assemblyman John Lavelle’s Death
“John Lavelle was a strong leader
who, throughout his long career in public service, worked tirelessly
to make life better for Staten Islanders and all New Yorkers.
John worked to get guns off of our streets and cared about education,
particularly education for children with special needs. New Yorkers
could always count on him to be their voice in Albany. I extend
my deepest condolences to the Lavelle family during this difficult
time.”
