Public
Advocate Betsy Gotbaum Urges State Leaders to Support Congestion
Pricing
Public
Advocate Betsy Gotbaum today released the following statement
urging state leaders to come together in support of congestion
pricing. Public Advocate Gotbaum has been working with a coalition
of elected officials, business and community leaders and to find
solutions to the citywide problems of congestion and poor air
quality.
Public
Advocate Gotbaum said, "I am pleased to see Governor Spitzer
and Mayor Bloomberg working together to move the congestion pricing
plan forward. The problems of congestion and poor air quality
impact all of us: whether you're a small business that has trucks
sitting in traffic, unable to deliver their goods; a child who
has trouble breathing because of asthma; or communities hounded
by honking horns and constant gridlock. Together we need to support
citywide solutions to these citywide problems. I strongly encourage
our state leaders to come together to support congestion pricing
and help move us closer to a greener, cleaner city."
