Advocate Gotbaum on Governor Spitzer's Marriage Equality Legislation
MANHATTAN
– "Every American deserves the right to marry and to
receive the protections that marriage provides to couples and
families. And yet, for too long, lesbian, gay, transgender and
bisexual couples and individuals have been discriminated against.
For several years I have been advocating for equality in marriage,
and I applaud Governor Spitzer’s actions today. Now, all
of us need work to move this legislation forward and give all
New Yorkers equal rights."
