Public Advocate Gotbaum Statement on Congestion Pricing
Public Advocate Betsy Gotbaum said, "This is a good day for New Yorkers and for the future of New York. Congestion pricing will potentially generate billions for transportation improvements each year, not to mention reduce congestion in the city and improve air quality. Albany should follow the Council's lead to ensure this moves forward, and the MTA must be held accountable for making the necessary improvements to the system to ensure that the people have accessible and efficient public transportation all across the city. This plan will go a long way towards giving all New Yorkers a better quality of life. Now it is time to get down to business and make congestion pricing work for a greater, greener, more livable New York."
